Embark is all about giving back some good to society. The best way to understand the Embark cause is to get involved in what we do.

Embark has been actively creating safer and more healthier neighbourhoods for both animals and people since 2007. This compassionate initiative began when Otara Gunewardena consciously decided that it was time to care for stray dogs by investing manpower and money and also inspiring community involvement in the process.

Embark, launched as Otara's personal Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, works tirelessly to prevent animal cruelty in society and to effectively stop the abuse of stray animals. An important part of this project is undoubtedly the Embark Volunteer Circle (EVC), a group of individuals involved in rescuing, re-homing and sterilizing animals as well as educating people on animal rights and protection.

Animal lovers, irrespective of age, can become EVC members and participate in all our campaigns and projects. Since the volunteers are expected to work closely with Otara when handling Embark work, new members soon discover that all projects are meticulously planned and implemented with a professional approach ensuring high standards are maintained from start to completion. To be involved in an EVC project can be both educative and rewarding.

No matter what challenges Embark faces in the short or long term, the members of the EVC work closely as a family to stay true to Embark's vision. This dedication, coupled with the passion to simply improve the way we live and love the animals that live amongst us, makes EVC a great place to make a change.
